Why Consider Foot or Hand Reflexology as Part of Your Wellness Routine?

    foot and hand reflexology

“I consider the reflexes in the body  to be the breaker box; when stimulated, it is equivalent to flipping all the breakers to reset them.”

    What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is the study of reflexes.

Reflexology therapies are based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands and ears that are linked to the various parts of the body. When these reflexes are stimulated with specific techniques, reflexology improves circulation, relieves stress and tension, and promotes balance in the body.

Reflexology is not a regular foot massage. It is a systematic holistic therapy. It uses the feet or hands to access the whole body.

    Personalized Wellness Program

Everyone responds to stress and tension in their own special way. It can show up in chronic patterns or be the effect of outside circumstances (like an accident or a sudden life change…). This ends up being reflected in the reflex points in the form of tenderness or palpable deposits. Just as you change from day to day, so will the reflexes. Therefore, each treatment is unique to that moment in your life and will support you where you are at.

Sabine has had over a decade of professional training and experience in her practice. She is a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist (RCRT) and Licensed Canadian Reflexology Teacher (LCRT) and provides foot and hand reflexology treatments in Vernon, BC. Her knowledge of reflexology is complemented with her understanding of providing a comfortable and supportive treatment experience.

What to expect from a session?

A reflexology session is an opportunity to relax and reset. Sabine works from the elbow to the hands, or from the knee to the feet. She uses specific techniques for reflex stimulation that are applied in the sessions, which in turn induce relaxation, as well as increased circulation and balance to all the systems of the body. Sabine’s Reflexology treatments last from 45 to 60 minutes. Treatments are non-invasive and performed while you relax in a zero gravity chair.

    When to do reflexology

When life gets out of balance

For acute injury or condition, it is recommended to do 2 to 4  treatments close together, biweekly or weekly.

For maintenance, preventative monthly or bimonthly is recommended.

People may choose to use reflexology as a stand-alone preventative therapy or as a complementary therapy to their medical interventions.

Reflexology as a Part of Your Wellness Program

Not everything is about making difficult changes in order to reach wellness. Your body is self-regulating; sometimes all it needs is a little nudge in the right direction. Reflexology is a technique that not only allows relaxation but also increases awareness of the body.
